How a DAO proposal works, from idea to the kernel
Anyone with a voice can propose what the network and its AI should stand for. Who may write, how votes are counted and what happens when one is adopted.
DRIVE 369 DAO
The DAO has one job that no company can do for its users: decide, together, what the network and every personal AI on it hold as their root. That root is the kernel, and proposals are how it grows.
What a proposal is
A proposal is one concrete thing the network can adopt: a principle the AI follows, a feature, a program, a norm or a default. It belongs to one of nine spheres: Unity, Body, Mind, Knowledge, Technology, Superhuman, Harmony, Earth and Trust. It has a title of up to 80 characters and a body.
The founding kernel has 369 proposals, 41 in each sphere, committed on chain by one hash. The page recomputes the hash and shows "Founding text verified" only when it matches. Read it on the DAO page, no wallet needed.
The life of a proposal
- Write. Pick a sphere and write what the network should adopt, in positive terms: what to build, not what to fight.
- Check. Before anything is sent, your own device checks the text (more in the safety framework). Words of attack get a gentle note, not a ban.
- Send. The contract takes your text and refuses only what is empty, over length for your tier, or inside your cooldown. It never judges meaning.
- Vote. Members choose For, Against or Abstain. You can change your choice until the vote closes. Each account counts once.
- Close. On the testnet a community vote runs for 3 days. A proposal is adopted when For is more than Against and at least 3 voices took part.
- Join the kernel. Every member's Ghost reads the adopted kernel before it answers, so what people adopt shapes how personal AIs behave.
Trust grows with standing
A newcomer writes up to 256 characters. After 3 proposals that stand (that were not hidden), an author can write protocols of up to 2,048 characters with links. Characters are counted as Unicode, so 256 Russian letters fit like 256 Latin ones. There is one proposal per cooldown, 1 hour on the testnet.
What nobody can do
Nobody can edit or delete another person's words. A steward can hide a proposal with a public reason of up to 140 characters and restore it, and hiding costs the author one standing. A wallet that wants to prune a founding proposal needs Against to beat For with enough voices.
Try it
Open the DAO page, read any founding proposal and vote, or write your own. Fees on Base Sepolia are fractions of a cent.
Live on the testnet, audit pending. Timings and thresholds are set by the DAO and may change.
